Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Perspectives and Comments

This type of publication consists of extended and substantial reviews of papers, publications or ongoing research carried out by other research groups. It evaluates the methodology and data and critically discusses the published results. The aim of Perspectives and Comments is to foster scientific debate on the different approaches, methods and processes in Circular Chemistry. All three Pillars covered by the journal are concerned by this type of publication, as well as interdisciplinary papers covering two or three of the pillars. These papers may be substantial in length - more than 10 Word pages, Times New Roman 12, single-spaced - in order to accurately describe the research under consideration and to allow for discussion.

Research Articles

These are original research publications that focus on Pillar 1 of the journal, Materials and Processes, and cover (but are not limited to) the topics listed for this pillar. Research articles should present the methodology, experience and results of original research. These articles are rather short, i.e. a maximum of 3-5 double-spaced pages, approximately 10 Word pages, Times New Roman 12, single-spaced.

Reviews

They consist of a short description of the state of the art in a specific field covered by CMC, as well as critical opinions and remarks on a specific paper published by other researchers or groups of researchers. Reviews are rather short, i.e. a maximum of 3 double-spaced pages, about 6 Word pages, Times New Roman 12, single-spaced.
